The Chiropractor Carrollton Turns To for Disc Problems

Dr. Hoa Nguyen suffered from sciatica pain in his twenties. It affected his right leg. For treatment, he was offered three options: pills, injections, or surgery. But it was only chiropractic care that fixed it. Since then, he trained at Parker University in Dallas and spent over 20 years giving his patients the same option he wished had been offered to him first.

What makes Dallas Spine Center in Carrollton, TX, different from other chiropractic clinics is that we only offer a true spinal decompression system and our honesty. We use DRX9000 and the Mark III Ultra shockwave machine to treat chronic disc, shoulder, and knee problems that manual adjustments alone can’t handle. There’s nothing like this technology for miles around. Disc problem plans run for around two months with regular reassessments. If you’re not improving as expected, Dr. Nguyen requests an MRI or refers you out for a second opinion. He won’t let you book more visits.

He mostly treats patients who sustained injuries in car crashes, slips, and falls. But he also treats people with the chronic problems that wear you down, such as sciatica, bulging and herniated discs, and frozen shoulders. What his patients appreciate most is the technology that’s effective and a doctor who tells them the truth about what the system can and can’t do.

About Our Practice
Our Flagship Treatment

Why Carrollton Backs Choose DRX9000 Spinal Decompression

A compressed disc that’s pressing on a nerve is the most common cause of chronic back pain, sciatica, and shooting leg pain. It’s the same mechanism that MedlinePlus describes for disc pain. Spinal decompression treats this type of pain. The DRX9000 pulls the vertebrae in the opposite direction. It lowers the pressure in the disc until it acts like a vacuum. The pulling draws in the water, nutrients, and oxygen the disc needs. It also helps in the retraction of the discs. The pain stops shooting when the disc stops pinching.

Dr. Nguyen runs the machine for a full 18 cycles per session, 28 to 30 minutes on the table, over a 20- to 28-treatment plan. This is the same protocol that the University of South Florida recommends for a successful treatment. The pull is based on your own body weight. It starts at 60% on your first visit, and most patients are comfortable enough to fall asleep mid-session. o get in-depth information about this machine or your plan, read our plain-English guide to decompression.

"We use the full 18 cycles for 28 to 30 minutes, from 20 to 28 treatments as the research suggests. We do not skip corners."

What We Offer

Three Treatments We Do Best

Every tool in our Dallas Spine Center office earned its place because it works. Dr. Nguyen built the practice around the DRX9000 and the Mark III Ultra because chronic discs, shoulders, and knees deserve better than adjustments alone. Digital imaging is taken first before treatment starts. These are the three options we’re known for beyond decompression.

Personal injury chiropractic care at Dallas Spine Center in Carrollton, TX

Personal Injury Care

Personal injury care involves proving your injury is new and related to the accident. We document everything for your claim. We’ll treat you if you’re hurt in car collisions, in falls at work, on the job site, or when a disc is the reason for the pain; decompression has a real track record.

To prove that the injury is new and it’s caused by the accident, Dr. Nguyen measures your ligament damage with CRMA analysis. The in-depth detail provided by this imaging is what separates a claim taken seriously from a claim that’s ignored. Most cases here run on a letter of protection. Thus, nothing here is paid out-of-pocket while we’re treating you.

Auto Accident Care

A collision sends high-speed force through your body. It throws the neck and low back out of line, causing whiplash, pinched nerves, and the disc injuries that can surface days later. The injuries may hide behind feeling fine. Find out here what decompression can and cannot fix.

Auto accident care involves getting extensive X-rays, including motion views to reveal ligament damage. A standard film can’t show and document precisely what the collision did. We bill your insurer directly, or we’ll send the documents to your attorney; your first visit sets the whole plan.

Shockwave Therapy

We use the Mark III Ultra to send focused acoustic waves into the chronic problem tissue. It creates a controlled micro-injury to the body so that it will consider it a fresh injury. The body sends more blood to the area to deliver repair cells so healing can restart. This is often used along with red light therapy.

It’s the therapy that we recommend for a frozen shoulder, knee pain that doesn't heal through rest and ice, and for stubborn tendon attachments along the spine. Your plan can run 8 to 12 short sessions. Many of our patients notice the effect right away. You’re welcome to walk through the treatment room beforehand.

FAQ

What Patients Ask Us Before They Book

Answers to the questions new patients ask us most. Don’t see yours here? Give us a call at (469) 986-9171 and we’ll be happy to help.

What happens at my first visit for disc pain?

Your first visit for your disc pain starts with filling out an online form before arriving at our chiropractic office. When you arrive, you’ll have your initial consultation with Dr. Nguyen. He’ll ask about your pain, when it started, what it feels like, and what treatments you have tried. You must be honest about your answers because what you tell Dr. Nguyen will guide him in designing your care. Your vitals are taken, along with digital X-rays in-house when your case requires them. Dr. Nguyen doesn’t guess. He needs to see what’s really happening inside your spine.

If your back pain is related to your disc, you can start undergoing spinal decompression on the DRX9000. You leave knowing what was identified, what your plan is, and what it costs. The $47 new patient special covers the consultation, exam, and X-rays.

Do I need a referral for spinal decompression?

No, you don’t need a referral for a spinal decompression. You can book an appointment with us directly. If your case needs an MRI, a specialist, or a second opinion, then this is when Dr. Nguyen will make the referral as part of your care.

How do payment and insurance work for decompression?

We take cash, card, HSA, FSA funds, and CareCredit. We also work with no-fault and workers' compensation. Car accident cases typically run under a letter of protection. It means that your treatment is paid from the settlement, instead of paying for it out of pocket. You’ll see the costs before you commit to anything.

Will decompression care turn into endless visits?

No. Your decompression care won’t turn into endless visits. Dr. Nguyen will design your plan, which is normally around two months. He’ll regularly assess you. When the plan ends and you feel better, you can move to maintenance visits, which means visiting us every couple of months or once a year. You can also just finish the treatment and never come back. But most of our patients continue with maintenance because they want to keep the outcome.

How long does a decompression care plan take?

It depends on your examination and what your X-rays show. Spinal decompression plans here follow the research, with 20 to 28 sessions. Accident care is built around your injuries. The number of sessions will depend on your outcome assessments. If your plan isn’t working as expected, it will be changed, extended, or stopped.

Where do I start after a car accident injury?

You can start by visiting our office so you’ll be examined. We’ll take your X-rays in-house and run CRMA analysis to document your injuries objectively. In that way, we’ll know whether your injuries are new and related to the crash. We’ll treat them properly. You can read more about how our auto accident process works on our website and come in even if you feel fine because crash injury symptoms can hide for days.

Why would decompression work when nothing else has?

You’re the kind of patient that our office is built for. Dr. Nguyen used to be like you. He was offered nothing but pills, injections, and surgery for his sciatica. The DRX9000 and shockwave systems here resolved his chronic disc and joint problems that regular care did not treat. The exam will tell you honestly whether our therapies can help.
